Chelsea Sutton
I was born to an artistically talented, nuturing, and diverse family
in the winter of 1983. From an early age, I exhibited a natural
ability in the visual arts. My interests were broad, taking pleasure
in the tactile black and grey work of charcoal, unforgiving and
precise characteristics of oil, and popularity of photography.
Throughout my education, I won recognition and awards for photography,
graphic design, sculpture, and painting. Between my junior and senior
year of high school, I studied surrealistic painting under Norbert Kox.

Given my passion for art in general but lack of specific direction, I
felt it was a natural step to pursue a degree in Art Education, and in
January 2002, after graduated a semester before my peers, I began
taking classes at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. A few weeks
before the move and only a few weeks after my 18th birthday, I
received my first tattoo from Ryan Counard of Unleashed Tattoos in Green
Bay, Wisconsin.

Though I would not continue into a future as an elementary art
teacher, I would graduate into a life of tattoos. Since 2002, I have
moved around the country and received tattoo work from Dave Temby aka Bleach
Methane, Katja Ramirez,
Stephanie Tamez, Shane Munce, Annie Mess, and AJ Ruin. Each artist has documented various milestones, character
traits, and points of pride.

In 2006, I participated in Carrie Villines photography project on text
tattoos, Permanent Record.
Currently three portraits in the series feature tattoos I sport.

As of December 2009, I am currently hunting a tattoo apprenticeship in
the Central Texas area. In January 2010, I became Bloodborne Pathogen Certified.
